Another Ivy Pull at Fairmount Park, Saturday November 22, 2014

We'll be at Salem's Fairmount Park, which is located west of Commercial Street SE.

We will start at 9 AM and go until Noon.  Rain or shine!  Wear sturdy shoes and long pants.

Tools and gloves provided, no experience needed.

Click here for online map and further directions.  Meet at the north side of park by restrooms.

There is a natural area with trails on the west side of the park.  There are many trees with English Ivy growing up them.  We will be working there to remove the ivy and preserve the trees.

Please register in advance -- helps us plan.  To volunteer and register, contact City of Salem Parks Volunteer Coordinator, Tibby Larson --- 503 589 2197 or

Good work done, SAIF workers!

There can't be enough thanks sent to the SAIF employees that worked on the trees by the creek earlier this year, south of the SAIF building.

Lots of dead ivy there, which is great to see!  Go and check out their great work!
This was a tough one!  Lots of large vines.
